India Inc.’s 25 Most Powerful Women

That is the cover story on Business Today’s March 12, 2006 issue that I presume commomerates the International Women’s Day: The 25 Most Powerful Women in Indian Business . Very Cool! It looks like this is the third annual listing. I wanted to link to the actual story here, but it looks like it is behind a subscription-based password. So, without any of the description that goes around this article, here is the laundry list.

25 Most Powerful Women in Indian Business:

  25. Preeti Vyan Giannetti, CEO, Vyas Giannetti Creative

Of the 25, I had heard/read about 13, of which 6 is thanks to a recent article in the Tamil magazine Aval Vikatan about how ICICI’s top management is predominantly women. So, how many did you know of? :)

Financial sector seems to be the leader with a total of 11 people (44%), thanks again to ICICI. Not a single person from Citi. I should probably move my banking relationship from Citi to ICICI next time I am in India.

There is another list of 10 Shadow Sovereigns who are the mothers and wives. I will blog that list later. (Apr 12: It is now blogged. Supposed Shadow Sovereigns)
